Repair Needed

Can someone please recommend a good repair person/shop I can get my Contax G2 serviced? Yesterday I turned on the camera and all of a sudden it started to advance the film without focusing. it went on to advance the whole roll before stopping. It did no auto rewind. I had to press the rewind button. Any advice would be appreciated.

Go to an office supply and get a can of canned air/duster. Open the camera back an blow out the takeup chamber and supply chambers. Do not shake the can while blowing the chamber out as the chemical will spray out causing more troubles.
Auto load cameras use small sensors to detect the film. A dirty or blocked sensor will prevent the film from loading or cause the advance to run continuously. Also check that the shutter release is not sticking part way down.
If this does not correct the problem then take it to a repair shop. A film leader retriever can be used to make the roll usable again.

Tried that-no difference. Looking for a great repair person/shop. My favorite one closed recently after 30 years here in Texas. I’ll send it where ever I need too.

I believe that Nippon Photo Clinic in NYC fixes Contax now. I have no experience with the shop. Perhaps someone who has used them will share their experience. Good luck, the G2 is a beautiful camera.
