Mine broke. It has a hole about 4X4mm and will now lose about 100ml / minute. Has anyone repaired a similar break? and what did you use? Epoxy? Joe Palooka Bubble Gum? Thanks for any help and if someone asked the same thing before, I'm sorry. Any pointing to other discussions would help me.
Jim,
Oooouuch! How did it get broken? Where is it broken? A 4mm square hole that has strong material all around should be fairly easy to seal. I would also email tech support @ jobo for suggestions on patching and good patching material.
Thanks Geary. I was drying with a kitchen towel and dropped it on the soft linoleum floor. The hole is right at the top of one of the 5 cylinders partly in the cylinder and partly on the flat top piece. Contacting Jobo support is an excellent idea and one that hadn't crossed my mind. I'll do it tomorrow.
I fixed a lid using epoxy. I'm having trouble visualizing 4mm right now but I think it would work. The stuff I got from home depot is rated for marine use and constant immersion. I figure even if it fails over time the tube is big enough to fix the tank 1000 timers or so.
if it is a tank made of a kind of .. elastomer which can't be glued easily there is the possibility to weld it with a piece of similar synthetics and a moderate hot soldering iron.
Since I have an old LeBaron car for which I can't get any spare parts anymore I'm doing it with nearly everything I can't glue or fix easily.
