Yes yes I know, Kickstarter. Posted this over at RFF forgot to post it here, it's 2 weeks away and $2.5k short
I just wanted to plug this guy's book campaign, he's a fantastic photographer (in my opinion). Not affiliated, just want to get this book

Ok, I get he is a nice guy looking to get some money for his book.
But, he has already made a few ones seemingly without need for funding.
What is different now?
I'm guessing here that he only uses film, right?

Why come to Kickstarter you mean ?
Printing books is expensive, especially small runs. I don't know how he funded his other books, but his previous one was also funded on Kickstarter
