Hello everyone !

I was removing the leatherette from my Rolleicord II to replace it and I tried to remove the tripod mount but couldn't figure how to do it.
I removed the three screws aroung the mount from the outside.

But I can't figure out how to remove the large grey knob. I try to unscrew it with some pliers but it's in a tricky place and I can't get a grip on it.

So if anyone knows how to do it properly that would be very welcome

PS: Sorry for my bad english, it's not my primary language

Is the gray knob, the disk near the front edge, riveted in place? Rollei did use rivets at times.

Also there appears to be a 3/8 inch to 1/4 inch adapter in the tripod socket itself. I do not know, but there might be something inside there to help?

I don't know, it doesn't look like so but it might be

I looked underneath, nothing that would help the removal of the piece unfortunetly

If you search for Rolleiflex 2.8 E2 - Repair Manual that will give you an exploded view and some notes on a few of the back doors of the Rollei TLRs. Maybe that could be of some help?

That would have helped a lot to replace the leatherette though but if there is no easy solution I won't force it
Does the leather go under the latch tab? you can simply slit the leather between the riveted knob and the center area. Slide the two side of the slit under the latch and no one will ever know.

I don't see the feet on your back. On most Rolleis, the leather would be applied and then the feet would be riveted into place. When you buy a pre-cut replacement skin, they will have a hole for the outer diameter of the base of the foot. They don't try to slide down underneath the riveted foot even though there is a small gap in there.

Yeah that's what I'll probably do, it looks a bit annoying to remove the mount.
