Jason Schneider, formerly at Modern Photography, has been contributing short notes to Rangefinder Forum. These are interesting reading. He also wrote an excellent 3-volume set of books on collecting.

Happy 2022 to you all.

Hello,

I saw the title "The Zenzanon Lens Saga, Part 1, Why did Nikon REALLY stop making lenses for Bronica?" and immediately clicked. This is something i always wanted to know.

But sadly the article was rather short on info and I feel mr. Jason hasn't really done his research homework. On later columns regarding Zenzanons he seems to say some false stuff, like for example the 75/2.8 Zenzanon, being -according to him- "a copy" of the Nikkor 75/2.8 by virtue of it's 5/4 optical design. Guess he didn't looked at the actual optical designs. Same claims are made about the 50/2.8 Zenzanon, said by him to be "a copy of the Nikkor-O-C", where in reality the designs are completely different.

Now, you're linking to a competing forum, i don't know if this is allowed. But thanks.
