Having mailed a check for various registrations how do we confirm that it has been received and applied?

When I have a breather I was thinking of emailing all registrants who registered online and sending a postcard to all those who did it via mail.

I think I'll make name tags/access passes as well -- like those things that hang from around the necks of the oh-so-important people at rock concerts and sporting events. The tags/access passes, will be available when people arrive at the conference.

Believe me I agonized over that very word when sending that e-mail, after all I am a British Colonial reject. Can you believe they took away my passport when the island became independent.
