Hi,

I am currently using Hasselblad 500 cm with 80,50 ad 150 mm lenses. Planning to get a large format 4x5 filed camera with a 90, 135, 210.
Hence looking for a new tripod and a head for the same.
I would like to keep the total cost below $400 and hence request your thoughts on the same.
I have been looking towards a couple of choices for the tripod legs :-

1. Induro Alloy 8M AT214 Tripod - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/655223-REG/Induro_472_214_Alloy_8M_AT214_Tripod.html
2. Sirui N-1004X - 4 section tripod - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/994930-REG/sirui_bsrn1004x_n_1004x_aluminum_tripod.html

However, for a head I would like to have a Ballhead :-

1. Induro BHD2 Ballhead - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/655335-REG/Induro_479_002_BHD2_Ballhead.html
2. Sirui K-40X Ball Head - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/822265-REG/Sirui_BSRK40_K_40x_Ball_Head.html

However, i am open to ideas and suggestions from all you guys .

I've had a Vanguard Ball Head and a Feisol 3301 w/center column for a few years now and use them every week. I alternate between using a Mamiya RB67 and a Wista DXIII 4x5 without any issues at all. I enjoy the light weight of the combination and find the support excellent for both camera setups. I bought the ballhead through B&H, but I bought the tripod and column from Really Big Cameras. Not sure why, but the Really Big Camera site is not responding at all right now?....

If you want carbon fiber legs and a good ball head, you are definitely over $400.00.

The solution I went with when upgrading lately was a set of Induro legs and an Acrotech head. The price tag is close to $1000.00.

Short of that, I think the best solution is a Tiltall.

You can upgrade the Tiltall legs with a replacement center column that replaces the head from here:

http://tiltallsupport.blogspot.com/p/tiltall-replacement-parts.html

And then add an inexpensive Velbon head:

That would be the inexpensive way to do it...
