I modified one for myself a couple of years ago. It took about an hour. The instructions don't mention that the eye shroud needs to be reversed so the nose slot is in the right position. You remove two screws, flip the assembly, and reinstall the screws.

This viewer is in great shape; nice and clean with a strong magnifying lens inside.
