Reference film

Hi all, does anyone know if Ilford can provide reference film? First, I'm looking for films pre-exposed with a gradient in know exposure values. Second, if there are any high resolution, resolution measurement targets, that would be awesome!

I've developed a new film scanner and would like to perform some reference testing.

Have a look at Stouffer transmission step wedges:

If you have access to a sensitometer and densitometer you can easily make your own. For scanner calibration you do not need equally spaced densities, they just need to be known.

LaserSoft sells USAF 1951 resolution targets (you may also want to buy some IT8 targets at the same time or go with cheaper Coloraid IT8 targets) and then there are homemade "Vlad's Test Targets" (which have a benefit of having more resolution elements places across the entire frame).

There are others, but mostly quite a bit more expensive...

Hi, probably anything you want can be supplied by Edmund Optics. Don't underestimate them; this is not the branch with scientific toys.

I'm guessing that you well understand that those 3-bar resolution targets are subject to aliasing in the digital realm.
