I recently picked up over a dozen old photography books and have been enjoying every one of them.
But one stands out above the rest as a book I recommend without reservation to every APUG member interested in advancing the art of their photography.
In this advanced book, Andreas Feininger wastes few pages on technical matters but in the bulk of the book talks about what makes photographs interesting. He challenges you to ask why you take pictures. He explains how originality can show even though technically all our photographs are the same.
If I could type out the chapters... it would be worthwhile reading but you know we can't do that. For now, there are cheap copies on Amazon.com you can get it for the price of a couple rolls of film.
A roll of film after all, is like a blank sheet of paper. It's what you put on it that matters most.
