I have an RB kit with several lenses. Two of them have gotten to be very sluggish shutters to the point that I can’t even use one lens and another is hit or miss. Both shutters will come back up to speed if I exercise them enough, but this is both unreliable and time consuming. I’ve had both lenses in local (Dallas) repair shops (one with a good reputation) but they come back the same way. I fear that the repairman has done nothing but exercise the lens and given it back to me each time.

So, I need suggestions on where I can send one or both of these lenses to get them CLA properly.

thanks.

In almost every case of these shutters that I have had on my bench with symptoms that you are describing, the issue is oil/grease contamination on the shutter blades. Work it a while and it seems to be alright then after sitting for a bit it begins to stick. If you manually release the shutter with the lens off the camera and slowly cock the shutter you may see the oil as a blue fringe on the blades. If this is the case, there is no simple solution other than a complete disassembly of the shutter to remove and clean the blades and cleaning of oil from the mechanism plates.
