Recommendations for a film scanner

Hello,

First post here, i was bounced over from yous sister site APUG.

I have searched alot on here already for the question i am about to ask, but all the information seems specific to peoples needs and i haven't really found an answer to my question

I am looking for a film scanner that:-

1. Is cheap (second-hand OK)
2. Can scan 35mm and 120 film (including sprocket holes)
3. Is preferably situated in NZ!

How cheap is cheap? Dedicated film scanners are going for a premium these days.

$100 - $200 NZD?

Also i only need it for B&W

B&W should not be an issue, getting a good scanner for both 35mm and 120 will be difficult at 200.00. A Minolta scan multi could do it for ~400.00 - 500.00 us. Polaroid made a 35mm-120 scanner that was, from what i've read and heard, pretty good, but I cannot personally recommend it nor can I remember the name. Some might be able to tell you that there is a flatbed out there that can do it, but I haven't used any that would be in that price range that can do 35mm well.

Any thoughts on a CanoScan LiDE 700F ?

In the price range, an Epson V500 is probably a good choice. It will also allow you to scan the 35mm sprocket holes, but not with the supplied holders.
