Hello all and I'm glad I found this community!
Dating myself here, but I first got in to photography in High School, back when they taught film photography/darkroom in public schools. I started on a hand-me-down Petriflex 7 that was my grandfather's, and soon my father gave me use of his old Minolta SLR (don't remember which model). I fell in love with film photography and although our school cut photography from the budget in subsequent years I became the photographer for the school newspaper with that old Minolta.
I only shot casually with mostly cheap cameras (Olympus Stylus Epic) for may years afterwards then a few years back got back in to shooting with a more serious digital camera (X100t). I became uninspired shooting digital after a time and one day after talking to an acquaintance who I noticed was carrying around an old Minolta SLR, I walked in to our local film store and purchased a few rolls. Flash forward to today after a bit of GAS I'm shooting more than ever and am really enjoying my journey (despite the current prices of film... yikes!)
Been really loving my Olympus 35RC for its portability and the very contrasty pictures I'm getting from it. Also shooting a Nikon FE (still looking for a wide angle lens), Olympus Pen F to save some $ shooting half-frames(ha) and I just recently acquired a Mamiya Universal Press for my first medium format foray (resulting in the opposite effect of the Pen). Alas my Oly Stylus Epic was recently unearthed in my closet but is no longer functioning.
I'm on instagram as @yatesjoshua and I'm located in Savannah, GA
