hi there,
recently I opened a thread in which I questioned the value of a remade horseman lens panel. They don't cost a lot but is it good enough?

I ordered a panel from ebay (link is in the other thread), and received it.
It works, the lens fits, the panel fits. So I guess it's ok.
I notced in comparison to me original sinar panels, that is way lesser quality. It does not feature the perfectly aligned corners, the hole in the middel is not as finely polished, and the material is not of such great coating as a original...
But does this mathers?

like to hear about this before I order another one.
Kind regards game

Y'all are talking to a bunch of sheet kickers who hack their lens boards outa 1/4 inch masonite, drilled holes with a hand held spade bit and paint them black with stolen (from my daughters) poster paint.

Does it work? Can you afford the real thing? Does it matter to you?

I have seen these knock-off boards on e-bay and wondered what the quality was like. I need a couple of new boards and have been considering the knock-offs.

Does the board you have give a light tight fit? Is the lens hole the right size and centered? Is the coating quality good enough to withstand normal use?

If the answer is yes to these questions I would think they would work just fine. Please let me know because I may order a couple of them.

Thanks.

I buy knock-off sinar boards and they have always been good.

I use these knock-off boards on my Gandolfi, and prefer them to original Sinar boards... YMMV. :D
