[I have the escapement for a Synchro-Compur shutter that, for some unknown reason, had the main spring come loose. It is still whole and attached; the outer end goes into a slot. My problem is holding this gear and spring in place while installing the other gears and pallets on the escapement. If I don't hold the gear steady, every other gear shifts it around and things get unwound, etc. But I only have three hands so....Anyone have any tricks for assembling an escapement? Little blocks slid in from the sides to keep gears stable? Wax that is removed later? Hmmmm? Thanks!
