Hello All,
Any idea why an RB67 would have a red/orange body? Was this type of trim a kit you could get and put on the camera body youself? Was it a limited addition camera?
thanks for the help.

You can buy replacement leatherettes like on the site of http://www.cameraleather.com, you can buy a lot of different colors and textures.

Looks like they pulled the leather off some spots and painted the metal, it's kind of hard to tell in the photo but the focus knobs are a clue (the two visible holes) and the shininess of the surfaces. Mine, the one in link the 6th message above, has had the leather replaced. I did it myself as an experiment.

As to why someone would do it... just for kicks, of course!

I saw that too on e-Bay. It is not the Lizard, I have one. The pix on e-Bay are something else. The "red" is not in all of the places on the real Lizard edition. Someone bought it and will enjoy it. Would like to see it though to see what & how it was done.

So we have a dyslexic 'd' in the title, eh?

This "reb" comes from latin "ruber", retaining the "b" in the stem.

You're perhaps thinking about "ruddy", expecting the "d" in the root to return in "reb", making it "red"?

David,
I am the one who ended up getting that camera. Seemed like a good deal with the 2 backs and all. He said that he got tired of the brass showing through in places and painted it himself. Looks kind of funky but in a good way so I took the plunge. I will post a better pic when it arrives.
Thank you all for your help.
