REALLY big negatives - how are you storing them?

Getting ready to do some 12x20 work and am trying to figure out how to store the negatives once they're made.

Are people making custom envelopes for each negative? Storing them in an archival box with seperating tissues?

I'm thinking that's where I'm heading, but wanted to ask those who have been down this road before.

I dont shoot 12x20. But I do shoot 7x17 and I use the 11x17.7" 6mil Print Sleeves by Printfile and it works wonderfull I use old 16x20 Ilford paper boxes for storage.
Printfile seems to have 16x20" print sleeves that only run about $40 for a 100ct.

For 11x14" I use glassine envelopes from B&H and keep them in an archive box. I think The View Camera Store sells sleeves in custom sizes like 7x17, etc. (or at least sometimes, they seem to have them).

This would be a great product for J&C Photography to stock if they don't already. You might send them an e-mail, and if there is demand, I'd bet they could add them to their product list.

If you're really in a pinch, Ziploc now makes very large bags up to 2'x2.5'.

Just curious, are these 8x10, 12x20 negatives easy to get? In my country (Singapore) very difficult and sometimes got to order in advance and sometimes must in quantity. It is difficult to do 4x5 now not to mention to shoot 8x10 and above.

I guess with many things, they are easy to get if you know where.

Ordering online one can find 8x10 easy enough, but as of this morning, after calling our friends in Oxnard, I found they are out of their film roll and will not be restocking 100/125 speed film.

JandCphoto.com however, has a nice stock of all these film sizes and except for a somewhat soft emulsion, perform very well.

They would have to come to Singapore via the US from Eastern Europe.
