Readyload, Quickload, and Polaroid 545i

Well the other day I opened up an old camera bag and what did I find? My three obsolete backs. One Readyload, one Quickload, and one Polaroid 545i.

I know there is no hope for the Readyload or the Polaroid but I heard somewhere Quickloads are available. Not on ebay. Maybe still made and sold in Japan? I have also seen some info when the systems died that someone was working on a user loaded sleeve?

Any news on Quickloads and where they are still being sold? Also any news on a self-loaded system?

I use quickloads all the time - they are freely avaialable and usually get them off ebay, slightly out of date. They are way more convenient than film holders or grafmatics

Quickloads are (readily) available in Japan still -- but they're not cheap. You can buy some from Japan Exposures, although their prices are a little higher than what you can buy at Yodobashi Camera (see attached photos).

There is a New York based company that sells the Japan quickload film packets. don't worry, each packet is only about $100 for color film. Their price varies between $90-$100, depending on the film.
that ¥13,650 film package at Japan Exposures is over $180.
Yodobashi has a website, but their prices aren't much of an improvement compared to Japan Exposures.
But in those photos, that ¥8,670 package of Acros is only about $111.65
Great find at that store moose. thanks for sharing that.
Do you know of any stores, I guess like the re-mailers in Japan that could get those films at that price and then ship them elsewhere?
It would be appreciated.

Yeah, I guess the strong yen doesn't help much -- I'm so used to counting it almost one to one that I get shocked when I realize how expensive things really are with the exchange. As for remailers, I don't know any. I don't live in Tokyo or anywhere near a Yodobashi or BIC Camera that may these quickloads so I wouldn't mind knowing for myself!

Some good information here. I saw someone mentioned a New York company. Does anybody have a name? I of course googled this before I originally posted but did not come up wtih much other than ebay.

The other part of the original question was the reloadable system someone was working on. If you search APUG for Demise of QL format: Hope on the horizon. You find the thread on the proposed system. Any news.

Remailers... or maybe we could all send emails to j-list begging them to stock film


I looked arpind for that new York located store and I simply cannot find them again. Although I think they may have called the film Fujichrome velvia quickload. They also sold batteries and such, and they didn't have that notice saying that the Fuji films were no longer available. I will continue looking around though.

Same here, I just keep watching eBay/CL for deals, when I see a fair price I snag them.

Good to know they are still around to buy anyway though.
