Hi all,

I just bought a F5 and it came with a mn-30 NiMH battery.
I'm just wondering if anyone here has replace the cells inside them? I know they are AA size cells.

I removed the three screws on the end cap and can see the cells inside but there is no way of opening the casing... Well at least none I can see.

As the batteries are no longer available I need to figure out how I can fix this and any future battery packs I may buy.

Your help is greatly appreciated,

Andrew

Try squeezing the case along the seam. Frequently they're held together with plastic tabs & you need to find the secret place to squeeze.(sounds kinda dirty don't it?).
If it's real stubborn I've used a hobby knife with a square tipped blade to work along the seam 'til it pops.

I just use rechargeable AA's in mine.

I am going to order some boxes of AA lithium batteries from www.batteryjunction.com for when i go to Nepal in October.

I want to fix the battery pack for home shooting

So far, i tried to get the thing open with my hands and it is not moving. I'll try the square blade hobby knife tonight.

Any dead pack I have I just take to my local battery shop and they take care of opening it and repacking. I've done everything from computer battery packs to cameras. Real cheap too.

Don't you have anyone local you can deal with?

I just took it to "Battery World". They will sort it for me.
