I don't use RC paper all that much, but I have selenium toned Ilford's new MGRC v5. The blacks intensify a bit and it doesn't change color at all to my eye; at 1:20 KRST for about 3 - 5 mins.

I've started toning quite a few of my RC prints. Only in polysulfide so far. The new Ilford MG RC is said to tone better than MGRC IV, and so far for me that seems true. It does change color, in a fairly pleasing way.
Some RC papers are said to be more prone to silvering out than baryta papers, and I've experienced that with Foma. I stopped using it, and toned my better prints on it in the hopes that it may prevent that.
I don't know about platinum, but the advantage of using it on RC paper as opposed to baryta is that the RC paper won't soak it up, so you'll use less of the expensive stuff.
I say why not, if you like working with RC paper.

RC paper tones nicely. With cold tone papers I use Kodak selenium at the recommended dilution 1&3, you will get a dramatic increase in intensity of blacks and mid tones. A simple sepia bleach and redevelop toner works.
If you use warmtone paper Selenium diluted 1&10 will give you a nice tone change.

Thanks for the insights. I’m not quite ready to make wet prints, but it’s good to know toning RC is possible.
