I have the original 90mm F3.8. When it is on T mode - using two cable releases. After I up the mirror and fire off the lens there is a delay before the aperture blades close down. It sounds like a a 35mm camera self timer before the aperture blade does its thing. Is this normal or an issue?

Doesn't happen with faster shutter speeds. It does happen with 1/8 or slower but that is ok because once it releases it does its thing.

I have a 50mm C lens and it doesn't do this at T mode.

Cheers.

It sounds like it is time for a CLA.

if you can replace it for less than the cost of the cla, why not try to diy? if you fail, get a relacement?

cla usually goes for around $100 or so plus shipping.

I have to say that I'm not feeling the replace rather than CLA philosophy, unless it's simply not financially feasible. It's a waste to throw out a "forever" lens on a "forever" camera, and then do it all over again when the replacement lens in turn needs CLA. To me, that's the whole point of having the C lenses rather than the objectively superior KL lenses with their plastic parts. I want a forever camera, and to have at least one tool that's not disposable.

Typed on my S7, lol.
