My RB67 Pro has recently developed a fault whereby the shutter button will not press (it is in the unlock position and will NOT turn at all) and I can only fire the shutter using the cable release.
Is a film back installed? The shutter button will not work if the film back installed and the dark slide is in place, whether film is loaded in the back, or not.

I have run a couple of films through the camera since it developed this fault. Negs are fine, camera shoots fine every time on cable release but never from the button.
One lens or any lens on the body?
Check for loose lens mounts, bent or sticky lockout pins, correctly installed revolving adapter, film holder installation.
Download the RB67 ProS service manual here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1015573/Mamiya-Rb-67-Pro-S.html
The manual will show lockouts that are not on the Pro but all other aspects are the same/very similar.
Is it the right film back? some earlier backs will work but will not engage the lockout. Is it the right revolving adapter? If yes to all that your camera may be worn enough that the cocking ring on the body is not fully cocking the lens shutter so the camera is "seeing" an out of battery condition.
There are no batteries in the Pro version, nor are there any double exposure prevention interlocks.
But there are protections built in to prevent releasing the shutter if:
1) the shutter cocking lever hasn't been fully advanced;
2) the dark slide is fully inserted;
3) the revolving adapter isn't turned completely to either the landscape or portrait orientation; or
4) the revolving adapter isn't properly seated fully and locked.
I would check all of the above, focusing particularly on the sliding locks for the rotating adapter.
Is the mirror lock up button on the lens set on manual? If it is, you need the cable to release it or switch to Auto after to press the main shutter button on the bottom right of the camera. If the mirror lock up switch is on Auto, the shutter will release when you press the main shutter button on the bottom right of the camera.
