Hi all, I had my first outing with my standard Pro RB67 today.

The counter was showing 10. I fired the shot and on the film back, I slide the little button to the left side and pulled the lever. After that I still had to slide the button left again and pull the lever (once) before the lever was free without needing to slide the button left. Is this normal or did I lose a frame?

PS. At the beginning the counter was definitely on the 1 position when I advanced the lever until the it couldn't go anymore.

Thanks.

Refer to pdf page 23 of http://www.cameramanuals.org/mamiya_pdf/mamiya_rb67_professional.pdf
Insert the edge of the backing paper all the way through the slot in the take up spool, fold it over then wind until the incoming paper is putting pressure on the folded over end to prevent paper slipping on the take up spool. Continue advancing until the arrows on the backing paper align with the start arrow on the insert. (steps 5 and 6).

The backing paper either slipped on the take up (improper loading) or the clutch is slipping which will require having the insert serviced to correct.

Yes I did put the flap into the take up spool and slowly wind the lever until the arrow on the film matched the one in the film insert/back. I put it in the film back unit, closed the door and pulled the lever until it coudn;t go any further where the number becomes "1". My only concern is that at the end is it suppose to get to 10 and you take the last shot, slide button pull lever and you have to do it again before the lever frees up?

when you have exposed the roll to frame 10, the wind onto the take up spool requires no buttons to be slid, the manual is free online check the details

On a 220 holder you will have to move the slider to advance past 10.

I definitely had to slide and then pull again. Once after 10th frame and once again before the lever was free. It says 120 on the film back.
