Hello,
I am planning on purchasing a Plustek scanner ( fits my current budget ) and scanning raw files using Vuescan. I am curious on how this fits my Lightroom workflow and am looking for some example raw files I can download and experiment with. Does anybody here know where I can find some raw files ? Ideally a b&w scan and a colour scan. I expect also to need some reversal s/w for lightroom or photoshop so want to try these as well. I suspect most of the s/h scanners native silverfast s/w wont be compatible with modern o/s's
Thanks

Vuescan is capable of converting scans of negatives to positives. It has been several years since I used Vuescan, but as I recall, it was sometimes difficult to find the right combination of settings that would result in a good positive. But with help from Photoshop/Lightroom, I was usually able to get acceptable results from my Vuescan color files.

More recently, I have been digitizing negatives with a digital camera and converting them to positive with Negative Lab Pro (NLP), which is a plug-in that runs in Adobe Lightroom. For black and white, I was able to get satisfactory results in Photoshop with no additional software, but for color, I think NLP is probably worth the added cost and complexity. I now prefer working in Lightroom compared to Photoshop, so I have been using NLP for my black and white inversions as well.

After many recommendation online, i also downloaded Vuescan. I was hoping since the software support various type of negative vendor/brand, it will give me an accurate color of film picture. But after giving it a few try, the results were disappointing. Maybe i just had the wrong combination of setting...
