A year ago someone gave me a copy of this, it's funny reading the interviews of famous photographers giving tips on how to break in to the photography market. Basically they all say in so many words, so sorry, all the good gigs are taken, the competition is astronomical, and magazines etc,... do not budget for artistic developement etc,... basically the free reign of expression and choice assignments became non existent in the 70's. I wish I had given up the illusion of making a career in photography at the outset. Because most people I see making a living doing photography took up photography to make a living, not because they couldn't live with out it.
