I'm part of the media and tech team at Placeholderclub, which includes being the photographer and videographer during monthly events.
Someone has to be there to capture the magic, the vibe, the memories. And these kind of events are all about channelling love and magic through music.
Music is played by 10 DJ's with fully featured visuals and lighting either provided by the DJ or visualized live. Each DJ plays a 30 minute set of their chosen genre, often EDM but we get rock and metal as well.
The platform used it VrChat, people can experience a fully modelled 3D world by wearing a headset and controllers and walk around in it.
This can be extended by wearing addition trackers on feet, middrift, elbows and such for full body tracking, often worn by people who want to dance and have everything translate to VR.
The build-in VrChat camera can be set to take photos from 720p up to 8K, I normally have it set to 4K. It is possible to change the zoom and aperture for magnification and DOF.
Exposure is fixed and how it comes out depends on the avatar and world lighting at that moment.
Shadows can be clipped but not highlights as far as I know. Exposure has to be changed in post for dramatic effect or to save an image that is too dark.
Focus point can be full auto, semi where you can place the focus point or manual where you have to do the focusing.
Largest caveat is that motion blur does not exist, there is no shutter speed.
A collage of 12 photos taken at the last event of 2022 on December.
1. Zonxy on stage during his set.
2. Zonxy closeup
3. People dancing down below the stage.
4. Wide shot of the club from stage POV, F3NN

11. People do fall asleep too, nights can be long.
