Offering here a very rare lens. In fact I have seen very few of these in over 35 years of LF and ULF photography. This lens will cover 8X10 although I used it on 5X7 in my Durst 138 S enlarger. This lens is pristine showing no signs of usage.

This lens is scarey sharp. 16X20 prints from 5X7 negs are absolutely astounding..

Unfortunately I lack the lens covers for the lens. I bought it for a lot of money when I purchased it along with three enlargers (but that is another story).

I can find nowhere where this lens is offered today. The Companon S is the latter iteration of Schneider's Companon series and offers higher contrast than the earlier version.

I know this lens would sell for north of $2,000.00 if you could find one, in this condition, today.

I am offering this very fine lens for $679.50. Shipping would be via insured UPS at buyer's expense. Payment (via Paypal only) is due within three days of purchase.

This equipment, as is all, I list on this site is also listed elsewhere. As such, it may sell apart from this forum.

At the price I would be surprised big time, but for 5x7 or 13x18cm this would be a good lens but more like USD 250, there are many alternatives.

I have a couple of those. I use them for 8x10, though one of mine is missing part of the barrel too.

Yes during the great purge I acquired one of these for next to nothing. Not seeing this stuff as cheap these days. I have enlarging lenses that I couldn't dream of 25 years ago. That's as nice as they come. Price is relative, nice condition costs more.

Are any of you selling one of these?
What? I only buy never sell

The lens needs a flange, that can get pricey. I had one made by SK Grimes.

I'm more of a Rodagon and El Nikkor guy. I do have a couple Companon-S lenses. I bought a Beseler 4x5 enlarger for $100, the seller didn't even mention that it came with a 150mm Companon S. That was a nice surprise

For those so inclined, another option for custom flanges is photographer José Meneses out of Portugal; I picked up a flange for a Companon-S a couple years ago that was very well made and has served well.

Wow, that's a great tip. The Beseler lens boards threaded for the vintage 53 and 55 mm El Nikkors and German lenses are a find. Looks like I could find all sorts of nice things.
Thanks for pointing this out.
Best Regards Mike

Coincidence! I just found him and ordered an adapter for my Xenar in Compound 3 shutter. It will allow me to mount it in a lens board for Copal 3. It shipped already and is on its way.

I have one for my De Vere 5108, Schneider designedand sold them for 10x8 enlargers, far more practical than the 300mm Componon S which I have as well. Otheres comments on price are correct, mine's mint and i bought it 3 or 4 years ago with it's flange.
