I'm selling a rare early 1900's 11x14 Century View camera with cherry & mahogany wood and brass hardware. Imagine the monstrous sized wet plates it can capture.

The camera body is in great shape with a very handsome patina and everything operates quite nicely for a hundred and ten year old camera. The bellows has a few light leaks/small tears which could be easily repaired with gaffers tape. The original ground glass is clean, intact, and still has clear grid/crop lines. The only issue is the bulb and tube shutter is sticky and could use a good CLA.

For it's age, I'd say the overall condition of this rare find is 7 out of 10.

You can learn more about the camera here.

I will also include a customized storage/carrying case with purchase.

PM me offers.

he is looking for you: to make best offer, in other words a silent auction. Yes I do agree, an asking price would have been the preferred method!

Asking price is difficult in this example: it is not like there are many of those cameras on ebay.

You read my mind, Darko. These oversized gem's are becoming scarce.

I've been researching values for a few days and have seen prices range from $750ish to over $2k depending on the condition. Here's one that recently sold for $1,250 which is very similar to my camera, but not quite as nice or flexible.

With that in mind, I'm open to reasonable offers before listing it on eBay or any wet plate forums which I plan to do Sunday night.

Thanks for the interest everyone. Message me any questions or offers.

Just curious, you of course want the most for it. Why would you not list it at the wet plate forums as the same time as here?

I'm still waiting on my membership to be approved so that I can post on wet plate forum's classified. Once I am, it will go up there too.

Okay, illumiquest. Since the not-quite-as-nice 11x14 Eastman sold on eBay for $1,250, I'll take $1,175 as it is and throw in the case before listing it on eBay. Plus I'll donate a portion of the sale back to APUG.

PM me.

My 11x14 has a new owner. Thanks for all the help, gang.
