My family is driving me crazy here on this. First let me say I'm one of those people impossible to buy for when it comes to christmas so I decided to make it easy for everyone this year get me what I need to develop b&w at home. Got permission from the redhead from hell and made out the list of what's needed and inventory numbers from freestyle, simple right?:errm: Red got talking to a friend who ASSUMED I'd be wet printing as well my oldest niece who took a photography class in college ASSUMED I'd be doing what they did lab develop then print in a home darkroom the opposite of what is planned. :whistling: All i wanted was the chemicals a changing bag a 120 reel and a couple of thermometers. Already picked up a tank with a couple 35mm reels and have some pyrex measuring cups to convert. I had figured if I had something worth printing I'd pay to get it printed until I get to the point where setting up a hybrid work flow or bathroom printing makes sense. All this gets sprung on me today. I finally got my niece on the phone she immediately got what i planned when told. So hopefully I'll get what I want instead of the usual crap I don't:laugh:

My redhead is a brunette, but I live much the same life as you seem to be living. Over the years we've come to the realization that the best person to shop for specialty items is the person who uses, needs, or wants them. Even when I give my wife specific instructions, l as you did, she finds a reason to "do it her own way"... an din the past that has turned out to be following hte suggestion of a salesman who didn't ahve what I wanted and convinced her to buy what he had to sell. So I shop for photographic stuff and give it to her to wrap, and she shops for herself and gives me stuff to wrap. That was we get what we want and there are no disappointments.

p.s. Congratulations on scoring a redhead. I always wanted one, but the one I dated was just too much for me.

Larry, did you know that you are not required to renew you contract? IMNSHO I recommend that you do a trade in for a newer, more flexible model.

Now you just have to score a safelight, trays, and enlarger at a yard sale.

We become incredibly cruel at Xmas. We set our loved ones impossible tasks of guessing what we want and in areas where more expertise than they have is required.

What's worse is that our cruelty is rightly returned when they demand exactly the same of us.:D

Ah... the spirit of Christmas!

You aren't kidding. I've failed at perfume ("old lady scent"), clothing (not "trendy" enough), jewlery (not "gold" enough), gems (not "big" enough), lingerie (suited more to my fantasy than her taste), and money (what's the point... I work to earn it and she spends whatever she spends whter I like it or not). We just gave up as a way of saving our marriage.

I always ask for a Visa gift card, a Paypal or Ebay gift card. That way what can't be spent at Freestyle can be spent on Ebay. That way I always get the right stuff without the fuss. I'ts worked for the last two years so far. And the great part about it, No more useless tie's (woohoo).

 @ both J's actually I know where I could get all of it for $100 roughly 25 miles up the road. Right now is not the best time for getting it though. Sirius redhead from hell is her favorite term of endearment I actually have to something REAL stupid for the temper to flare. Kind of like kicking a sleeping tiger you know it's not a smart decision before you do it. Any way freestyle was down earlier so I was notified please order it yourself since you know exactly what you want.

"Sirius redhead" ... my father would refer to my mother as the "Bull of the Woods".

I'm married to my second redhead, the first was half Sioux indian and meaner'n a wolverine (she tried to kill me a couple of times, almost succeeded once) dated a couple of others. This one is a keeper, she is always trying to find me photo gear, she likes to keep me happy, I do my damndest to reciprocate.

Next time, Mark, try an AfAm goddess... she'll kick the crap out of you, and that's when she's agreeing.

When I want to tick my wife off, I call her a blond with a bad attitude. FYI, red hair is a variation of blond, not brunette.

To her face ...

If one was not involved directly, family fights could be viewed as entertaining from the right point of view.

As long as he wasn't referring to her face...

Hoooo yeah! I remember...well never mind. :whistling: Life with her was not dull. She'd go ghetto on my ass. Later I might find out what I did.

The NatAm chick, she was sweet, but had the whole family "keep to your own" thing pushing on her.

Mi amorcita, the MexAm beauty I spent many years with, we got along great almost all the time. When she'd had enough of whatever it was, she'd go barrio on my ass. I almost never found out what I did. I think being myself was enough.

The blonde was, well, blonde. Her own wavelength, that's all I can say.

No redhead. I had one for a boss, and that was more than enough.
