Good article in NYT [paywall] that features two photographers that I admire. I missed the opening of this show when in NYC for the Edward Hopper show, which was so mobbed with people that I would rather have seen the Pace show. Ah well.
Inspired by the pioneering photographer William Christenberry, RaMell Ross moved to the Deep South and found fertile terrain. Now Pace Gallery puts their art in conversation.
Pace is pleased to announce a two-person exhibition that juxtaposes works by the late photographer, painter, and sculptor William Christenberry, and the interdisciplinary artist, photographer, and Academy Award- nominated filmmaker RaMell Ross.
Yes, saw the show yesterday. Long-time Christenberry fan. Especially haunting was his KKK collection. All resonates well with RM Ross. Very powerful stuff.
