You don't have a Walmart in London, do you?

I'm just joking. I'm not trying to be negative. It's just that he mentioned Walmart. Shooting people at Walmart is a big joke here in the US. Most people use their cell phones though and catch people unaware that they are being photographed.

We have ASDA which is kind of similar and it is actually owned by Walmart. I understand the concept but I still think it would be a cool project to shoot people in super markets with their kids, shopping and all, without making it a joke or a degrading experience for anyone involved.

'Making me smile - 'wanted a Fuji, but took the advise of a 90 y.o. shop owner for the Super Ikonta. Took it home Monday. 'Only one shot so far, but only you'll hear the shutter. A quiet 'snick' instead of the KER - FLUMP - Pah of the blad (mirror). That shop owner (Ed of Hollywood Camera, Portland, OR) obviously has his personal stash of sought after cameras. The one he keeps with him at his bench is a Super Ikonta IV. He said he bought an early, uncoated one when he served in WWII in Germany and used it for 10 yrs. I'll be pretty excited to get the first roll (only 11 x 6x6 on 120) out of the tank.

Yeah, I agree. It could be a cool project if done by a photographer trying to document people's everyday life.

'Took a couple more frames w/ the Ikonta today. You have to be very close to the camera to hear the shutter at all. 'First roll through it. 'So far - very pleasing. We'll see how my geezer eyes do w/ the coincident focus method.
