Quick Speia toning question

Hi All,

I’m new to toning. I noticed on my latest sepia toned prints that the borders have picked up some of the tone. I’m using Ilford MGFB Brilliant glossy paper. I am assuming that this is a side effect of either poor fixing, or poor washing. Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated!

Assuming you are using an indirect toner, make sure to very thoroughly wash out the bleach before sepia redevelopment.

could indeed be a sign of poor fixing.direct -sulphide toning will tone silver-rich highlights.warming-up highlights is the aesthetic goal of sepia toning.

Thank you so much! I will take extra caution on these steps moving forward. I suspect old fixer may have been the problem.
