Just a quick question. Can I use 4 1.5v S76 (silver oxide) button batteries in a Mamiya m645 in place of the 6v 4SR44 Eveready battery? I need to replace that battery and won't be able to get the 6v for a week. The voltage and size should be the same but I'm not sure. Any input? Thank you!
If I am not mistaken those are the same batteries.
Th only issue is when some require Silver Oxide and you try to use cheaper Alkaline 1.5v but I think that is more an issue in electronic cameras so I would bet you would be fine.
edit: opps okay the 4sr type are larger sorry.
I think you can use 4 of the smaller type.
Hi, voltage should be fine, but probably they will need a spacer like a piece of foil on one end. Although this could cause a short circuit if you put the foil at the end with the inner contact!
If you have a Pentax digital spotmeter you can steal the battery from that.
I don't think a spacer will be needed. I got the idea because I remember seeing a 6v battery made by battery specialty store that used to be here in town which just looked like 4 1.5v button batteries wrapped in a shrink wrapped plastic. I think it ended up being the same size as a standard 6v.
I ended up stopping by ACE Hardware to pick up some epoxy and surprisingly they had the batteries there. God I love ACE hardware haha! Thanks to all for the help!!
