My Zorkis shutter is off. I think the problem is called capping.
Speeds of
1/60
1/30
B
the curtain opens halfway and sticks ..and then finally sweeps to closure
It's probably stuck halfway open for 1/30 of a second.
Did a quick read lastnight and figure it's due to grime in the gears of the curtains. Easy fix, it seems ..only I've never done any real repair before
Oh, sure
I've taken stuff apart
never fixed anything, though
I'd rather not take anything apart as I'm modifying the camera right now and that would ruin my progress
Can I simply dab some solvent around in the area using an eye-dropper and then wipe whatever I can off?
CURIOSULY
This only happens with 35mm film in the camera.
I can stick in pieces of LPD7 positive dupe film and expose without any issues. I've done this about a hudnred times over the past few days checking infinity focus
Using the LPD7 has not damaged anything.
