You would need a slim, circular polarizer for the wide lens of yours. I would suggest the B+W, which is what I have, but they are quite expensive.

yeah I figured it had to be that, I've got a cheap n dodgy cokin filter which requires a 77mm bracket to fit on the L lens and it sticks out a bit ... ah well next expense I guess
