quick autochrome suggestion

I was just taking a look at some color materials on Fuji's website, and something struck me.
why not use transparent color print materials design for digital printing to generate the mask? There seem to be several transparent RA-4 materials on the market ...

It strikes me that these could be easily coated with an emulsion after they are made...
