Questions from a newbee...

Hi,
A newbee here from India. I'm shooting in 35mm for last 2 years and now I'm interested in learning darakroom techniques so that I can develope & print my own stuff.

It'd be great if any of you could help me how to start & where to start.

For a good amount of information quickly, a good book is probably your best bet. There will undoubtedly be as many recommendations as we have members but the best one I've found on darkroom setup and printing is Tim Rudman's "The Photographer's Master Printing Course"

However, there's no substitute for a little hands-on practice with someone experienced. Try asking if your local college do a beginners' darkroom evening course.

Thus begins the obsession...!

Hey Neal,
Thanks a million for the links of Kodak. Today only I had got the link from Ilford, which is equally good. I've surely go thru the Kodak materials soon.

I'm also looking for someone who can teach me the "dark side" techniques in front of me so that the learning curve becomes smaller.

Color or B&W? Either way a processing tank, dark space
for loading the tank, and chemistry are needed. Specifics?

A easy thing to start with, before you do PMK or somethging, is tri-x in rodinal. i like 1:50 9 min with tri-x at iso 200
