Questions about Kodak EK4 instant camera

A friend gave me a Kodak EK4 instant camera, and I was wondering if Fuji or somebody else makes film for it. The film pack that was used in it was Kodak Instant Color Film PR144-10.

From what I've read before on this forum, that used Kodak instant film. It was very different from the Polaroid variety, but there was a lawsuit and Polaroid won, thus ending EK's venture into the instant film business.

I'd be surprised if you can get film for it, but If any group of people know, it would be APUG.

There has not been any film made to work in Kodak instant cameras for about 30 years. There is no way to use the camera. Kodak offered a time for people to trade them in for a Kodak 35mm camera after Polaroid had their way with them.

Not quite that long. Kodak had to stop making it in 1986. That was a huge thing at the time; usually something is worked out, instead of a company having to get completely out of a business.
If it's possible to get my old Colorburst going again, that would be fun.

Typical of instant camera makers. They supply you with film for 40 or 50 years or so, and then drop it like an anvil. Technology marches on or somesuch...

Not only can the EK4 be adapted to use the Fuji film mentioned, but so can the top of the range folding rangefinder the EK8, which was made in Germany. I still have one of these, as it had no secondhand value, not even as a collectible. The trouble is the film isn't cheap and has to be got from Japan, so it's not something I'm going to contemplate at present.
