I used to have Photo shop C4 ,now I have MAC and needed something to manipulate my photographs I could only afford Lightroom2.7.
To make long story short I need to resize photos for eMail (100Mp)can I do it in Lightroom or I need some other program to do that? Any help is appreciated. I can't afford to buy Photoshop right now.

You can resize any image using Apple's Mail program.

Drop our image into an e-mail. A menu appears in the bottom right of the e-mail giving you various image sizes.

Best to start at 72 ppi, and keep the image under 1000k before importing the file into your e-mail.

it won't help on a mac, but on win platforms irfanview is great, does batch stuff too and strips exif info (camera and owner can be contained there) so its quite handy

You probably realize this, but downsampling requires a bit of unsharp mask to look 'snappy' on-screen. Generally speaking I use a USM of about 40% 0.4 radius and 0 threshold to get that extra clarity. Obviously this requires some kind of app - PS etc.

Thanks for responding
I found out yesterday how to use Automator in MAC but I don't know if I did not save the images improperly or I did something else wrong ,when I wanted to post them, image files appeared like text but thats about it? No images.
Don I think I did resize images once about three months ago but I don't have a clue what I did.

Greg,

I highly recommend Julliane Kosts FREE LR tutorials found on Adobe TV found here:

http://tv.adobe.com/

I've watched her videos many times and she has a pleasant but no nonsense approach to her demos and tutorials.

None of the insipid buddy talk and jocular silliness found in other online offerings.
