Question Regarding Gallery Sequencing

Is there a way in our Photo Albums to sequence our images? I have a narrative going and they want to load right-to-left and I need mine to load left-to-right.

It is very important for me that they sequence this way for the story to follow its format. I have tried and tried but to no avail. Any suggestions would be mighty helpful.

I am not sure this makes sense. What I need is for the first pic to always stay the first pic and load the second pic into position 2 in the Album to the right of it (not to the left).

I think you'll need to load them backwards, but it seems to me you should be able to alter the placement of each one. I'm going to check... I don't remember how I did that...

ETA: There is an "Order" number just under the caption in the picture information, so you can move the pictures around as you see fit.

(You are talking about the portfolio galleries on APUG, right?)

Thanks Suzanne, I hope there is a solution. For the Main Gallery this will be fine as three is no problem, but for my photo album then in order to do this I would have to reload the entire sequence every time I add one new pic to it just to sequence on the right. Correct?

For the main galleries here, they will read left to right, and the FIRST one you upload will be on the right of the other two.

When you say photo album, do you mean the APUG portfolios? In this case, you can upload them in any order, and then when you edit the portfolio you can use the field called "order" to change the sequence without re-uploading all the pictures.

The Photo Albums inside the profile area not the portfolios. I have a few started there. I didn't see the "order" button in that area, if not I will create a Portfolio and upload my images there. ).

I could be wrong on this, but I think there is a reasonable possibility that you may be the only person on APUG who is actually using the Album function in the Profile part of APUG .

As such, tell us how it goes.

Is that really true? I like that feature a lot especially because it lets you build different groupings together, just wish I could get them in sequential order - ha ha. But, I did put together a portfolio like Suzanne suggested, my only concern is that this could turn into hundreds of images and I don't want to overload the system...... )

Haha! After seeing this thread, I finally found the album feature in the personal profile! Duh!! Not sure how you might look at other's albums, though!

Yeah the profile gallery is a bit weird but it gets use for the social group areas as images displayed in the social groups are pulled from the profile galleries. Unfortunately there is no way to order gallery images but like Suzanne stated this can be done in the Portfolios. Don't worry about the disk space if you hit a wall PM me and I'll increase it. Some folks load up a Portfolio then link to it in their forum signature.

Thanks to you both for your suggestions, I did start a Portfolio and the sequencing is now just like I want it. Will do a signature link as soon as I get a bit more of the story going. What a nice feature the Portfolio gallery is for Apugers.

I will definitely let you know if I hit a wall, but I am sure that will be a long way off at the rate I am going - ha ha!
