Hello all,
I can't seem to find a answer to this question elsewhere so I thought I might bother some more knowledgeable Apug members.

Is the PME-5 meter known for draining the battery when left in for four months? I try not to leave any battery in a camera or any device for too long when I'm not using it but sometimes I forget.

I left a new silver oxide PX28 in my PME-5 four months ago. When I went to use the meter I found the battery was very weak. I replaced it and all is well.

Does the meter drain the battery even when not on or do I have a unique problem?

Thanks

I've not had a problem. I've had mine for a couple or three years, I think, and I've replaced the battery once, as I recall. Never take it out, unless replacing.

My PME needs a battery every two or three years.

Thank you bdial and Sirius Glass.
I installed a fresh lithium, so now I'll wait for a while and see what happens.

Paul, it is good that you installed the lithium. Some people have to take lithium!
