And really other lenses in the lineup too... is it normal to see the aperture blades when wide open? Some lenses don't show any blades or barely any, like the 80mm. Any issues with reduced illumination or anything to worry about? Asking for a friend.

Thanks!

I can see them on my Componon-S 50/2.8, too.

I can see a little of the aperture blades on my 50mm f/2.8 Componon-S when it is wide open. It's not an issue, even if it is an issue. I always stop down. I'd have to look at my 80mm and 135mm.
