This is my first post, so go easy on me

I've been living in lovely Montreal for a little while, getting some much-needed darkroom practice. I'm now shipping my stuff back home to Melbourne.

Have any of you had any experience with surface mail? I've got a half-full box of Ilford Multigrade IV. Any chance of hazardous rays and/or measly customs officers opening up my box? Am I better off donating the box to a friend?

It will likely be packed in a much bigger box along with other assorted personal belongings, if that matters.

Thanks.
