*******What would be interesting would be to use a Pocket Wizard or similar set-up on the Speed/Crown, synced to a bunch of strobes lighting up the whole room.
You could do the whole cigar-chomping thing and have a well lit room on a toasty big neg.
Would you like faster shutter speeds? The corrections for shutter speed, assuming 25 or 11 bulb are:
1/25 = .9
1/50 = .8
1/100 = .7
1/200 = .6
1/400 = .4

So with the above information, at 15 feet, I could do f11 and 1/100?
John Richard,
Have you checked the flash synch of your solenoid yet?
Years ago, I used electronic flash for wedding candids but used flash bulbs to shoot posed shots of large groups. I went back through my notes and found the following information:
GE 11B medium screw base flash bulb in Graflex flash with 7-inch reflector
ASA 100 film
10 feet flash to subject distance
f/16
Sylvania 25B bayonet base flash bulb in Graflex flash with 7-inch reflector
ASA 100 film
10 feet flash to subject distance
f/11
I hope my notes are of some use to you.
Have you checked your solenoid for proper flash synch?
Still have to test.
Well, the Wedding was a success. ... I'm going to develop tomorrow, and I'll post the scans.
