Question about brown tint on developed 70mm Aero PLus-X film

I just finished developing some 70mm Aero Plus-X. The film is used for aerial mapping, hence it is very sharp. I used the following procedure:

Presoak: 5min Water

Developer: Stand Developing: Rodinal 1:100, 60 minutes, 20 agitations for the first minute and then it stands.

Stop: 2 10sec rinses in water and then 2 minutes in water.

Fix: TF-2 ( an alkaline fixer)

Wash: 20 min

Photo-Flo: 30sec

Everything was at 20C.

When I dumped the soak water, It came out brown. With 120 film, water comes out blue/purple.

Is the brown tint normal?

Anybody have experience with this film?

How did it "come out"? Any problems.
Maybe the backing layer on this is brown? Maybe snip off a small piece to see.

I snipped off a piece of unexposed Aeropgraphic Plus-X #2402 and both sides of the unexposed film are a light gray color; no brown backing and yet after I soaked it for 5 minutes prior to developing, the water comes out brown?????? . I have 700 (2x350ft) of this film, so I have a vested interest in getting a handle on it. Yomorrow I'd try the HC 110 (dil 1:31) @ 5min and see what happens..... I'll take 4-5 images and develop it and see what happens.

I also have 1000 ft (2x500ft)) of 70mm Plus-X Aerocon II #3404. Any familarity with this film?

Hello,

The first is a picture of a snippet of unexposed film, front and back; the second one is the developed strip with the browish tint. Tomorrow, I'll stoke up the Omega and try some printing with these negs..... who knows what will happen.

That looks like colour film.

Is there any edge printing?

I also have 500' of Plus-X 3404 that I bought from the guy out in Utah.
I have not used it yet, the base is easy to crease, it is so thin!
Jukka in Scandanavia used this stuff for years with great results.
You can load 250 exposures in an A70 Hasselblad magazine.
(But I really don't have much interest in that).

I'll have to take an inventory and see what I have in 70mm Plus-X in the deep freeze.
I use a Kindermann 70mm steel reel and grey plastic developing tank to process 70 exposures.

l've never seen results like those brown negatives. Wonder how they will print?

Hello, If anyone is interested, this is an update on the developing of the Aero PluS-X. Yesterday, I shot a full 15 feet at 50asa, and decided to develop using HC 110 dil H (1:64) at 9:30min. I cut off about 2 feet and will develop that tomorrow in Rodinal 1:100 stand development 60min... which led to the initial fiasco. Curious to see the results. If stained redish brown like the first roll, then the fault is with the Rodinal.???????? Will keep posted. By the way, the film is superb, great detail, no wonder it was used for mapping.
