I'mhaving fun with my Ilford glass plates at the moment. The trouble is that the holders I have are scratching the plate surface sometimes after exposure. Any advice gratefully recieved.
I think perhaps the metal holders i am using are 9x12 and as a result, it's the darkslide that is holding the plate in. I think what I require are proper 1/4 plate metal holders!
Is the emulsion still good and what do you do about developing them. Do you need to entend the development time or add anti fog to the developer. The reason I am interested is that I have some HP3 glass plates I was going to expose in the next couple of weeks.

That is an incredible print coming from plates that are 40 - 50 years old. I guess I have a project for this weekend - I figured on a ASA reduction but wasn't sure how low to go - it will give me a good starting point.
Thanks
