I've recelled more than my fair share of Quantum batteries-I can do the lead acid ones like the Quantum 1, Quantum 2, and the original Turbo in my sleep(and have converted multiple early Quantum 2s to take the PS-832 battery-not that it's difficult but takes a bit of soldering to do a neat job).

I have a 2x2 on my workbench now that has me stumped. To be clear I have the 4/5C replacement cells on hand. Rebuilding battery packs has become a bit of a hobby of mine(in a weird twisted way, as if I don't have enough). I enjoy it and it opens up camera gear to me that otherwise can't be powered. I have a battery tab spot welder, plenty of nickel strips in various sizes, battery shrink wrap, and I've quite literally been soldering since I was in elementary school. I say all this to say that I'm prepared and equipped to build a replacement pack once I have it out.

The getting it out seems to be a problem, though. A lot of Quantum products are a snug fit in the case, but this one seems worse. Best I can tell there are a few pieces of double sided tape holding the pack in, but I've used a metal ruler to cut those, have squirted naptha down around it, and "rocked" the case to try and squirm the pack out. It won't come. I tried pulling by the wires, but all that's resulted in is me thinking I'm going to need to replace the entire wiring pigtail...

The only other path I can see is ripping the seams on the case and then sewing it back up. I'm not particularly handy with a needle and thread, though, so I'm not wild about it...

Just came across a pair of these packs. I've tried (gently) heating with a hair drier and while it does give a bit, it still wont fully release. Didnt have time to play around with them further but super interested in how you resolve this.
