Nikon L35

Stephanie was in search of a B/W disposable and it got me thinking (not a good thing, getting me thinking that is). So I picked up a Nikon L35 for $35, from the camera repair shop around the corner.

I found the Tri-X Pan in my box of lost and forgotten films.

XA2 - but replace the seals a la Jon Goodman before you leave

The list from Olympus is long and illustrious. In addition to the Stylus, RC and XA's that have been mentioned, I'd add the Trip 35. I never thought I could fall in love with an "all automatic" camera but that is a real beauty. There are also all the Pens, both viewfinder and F's

A Konica TC or TC-X with the 40/1.8 Hexanon is quite small and light. Greg Weber [gwebera@webercamera.com] should have all of these.

If you have a Minox GT35, pick up a US$10 Zing belt pouch tht slips onto your belt, Velcros closed, and is practically indestructable. I've never had a problem wih it and my 35ML.

Pick up an older Zeiss Ikon or some such rangefinder. The Contivas came with a pop up window light meter.

chut, - I'm surprised that the Minolta TC-1 got such a high rating. Each lens element is chopped in half and there's a great big hole in the body to let the light fog the film. Still, better than a holga I suppose.

The best photo accessory on these trips has consistantly been my black, Nylon Domke 803 satchel.

I have the Navy Blue version and I believe it beats anything I have owned so far by a wide margin.

At the moment, the kit is a Minolta X-700 with a 45mm f/2.0 pancake lens and it drops right into the supplied pouch in the 803 with the optional 70-210 series 1 and the Minolta IVF. At this point I don't see a need for the other inserts but time will tell.

I am still working on the 'pocketable' kit. In addition I also picked up one of those little AF compact Nikons, One Touch, I think.

Last week I picked up an Olympus LT Zoom 105. Nice looking, pocketable, fill-in flash, and with spot metering.

Andy, the LT is a beautiful camera. It's the Stylus with a Leather Trim, but it does not have a spot meter.

The 38mm, F2.8 Stylus II is still available new from the "Big Photo Store in New Your that has Terrible Customer Service". I just picked one up because I couldn't resist. It is even smaller than the XA!! I believe when it is all said and done it will hold the record as the smallest 35mm camera ever made.

Yes, it does. Press the flash and timer buttons simultaneously to switch to the spot meter.
