hello, all,

i recently purchased a sony a7iv, and also have a canon 6d mark ii. with my canon, i mostly use my sigma 35mm 1.4 art lens and looooove it - tack sharp and perfect for events. for my new sony, i bought a sigma mc-11 canon to sony converter and was not at all impressed by the files i got with my canon art lens on the sony. i could test this myself, but thought this forum could catapult me past having to do tests: how would a sigma art lens designed for the sony body work in comparison to using the canon version with a converter? any big difference? i'm not too interested in ultra fast autofocus, i'm more interested in being blown away by the sharpness and quality. thinking the sony will give me more impressive files considering the DR and megapixel count are higher. thanks in advance for your input!

All of my Sigma lenses produce the exact same result on all of my cameras. The only reason I can think of for your situation is that the two cameras have different settings -- and I'm sure other basics are different as well -- # of MPs, etc.
