Hello All
My first post, so here goes...
The attached jpg is the result of my first attempt to print the QTR ink separation page on an Epson 3880 (the white ovals indicate physical pooling of the ink). I was trying to create a curve for Red River Ultra Pro Satin paper.
Here are additional details on this print
? I am using a Mac Book Pro with OS 10.7.4.
? I printed with PS 6.
? When opening the file, I got a dialog box that said The document inkseparation8.tif does not have an embedded RGB profile.
? I selected the Leave as is (dont color manage) option
When I went to print, I did the following
? Color Handling: Photoshop Manages Colors
? Normal Printing
? Rendering Intent: Perceptual
? Printer Profile: QTR_RGB_Photo_Paper I chose this because there was no option for not color managing the file
I then clicked the Print button and navigate to the QTR settings dialog box, I set the mode to QuadTone RIP Calibration and clicked Print
Everything I have read says that the file is untagged & should not be color managed during printing. Since this doesnt seem to be an option in PS 6, what would be an effective work around? Also, doesnt setting the mode to QuadTone RIP Calibration in the QTR settings dialog box negate these profile settings?
Thanks in advance for any info/advice you can provide.
